RONALD TERRY Forbidden Beauty The mouth opens and closes, blinking the pink of the tongue. To gaze upon the body, forever stained, rain-cut from rock, softened by pain. The word preceded the image and cast its purity murky, biblical – marble skin wrapped in artifice, a rigid statue. Angels are eternally young, just blossomed from the grave and ready for flight. Do not look, lest you turn to stone. Ronald Terry works as a technical writer in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. His poems appear in Spectral Realms, Star*Line, Bete Noire, Poetrybay, Dead Snakes, Night Cry, Space and Time, Amanita Brandy, The Horror Zine, Eternal Haunted Summer, etc. |
