NOEL KING North my blackbird poem is not "singing in the dead of night" or keeping "smooth plats of fruitful ground" nor even feeling "the warm eggs, the small breasts..." no, my blackbird takes a break from chirping in my west wing flies south and at night east disturbing my sleep but it's when he goes north is the thing when he flies north it's serious catch the bugger and I am cured but alas he (or she) is invisible. Noel King was born and lives in Tralee, Co Kerry. His poetry collections are published by Salmon: Prophesying the Past (2010), The Stern Wave (2013) and Sons (2015). A short story collection, The Key Signature & Other Stories has been published by Liberties Press in 2017. www.noelking.ie |
